About Nerds in the Wood Nerds in the Wood, nerdsinthewood.com, is a site for recreational GPS users, hikers and geocachers. By using GPS receivers and computer mapping to plan and track your adventures, you can create detailed records of your excursions, geotag your photographs, and keep yourself from getting lost. New technologies make it possible to communicate with others, even when far away from cell phone networks. This site is intended to provide reviews, guides and other information to help our readers get the most out of their GPS devices. Nerdsinthewood.com is a work in progress.
